Thanks to its central location in the most popular region of Italy, Casa sulla Collina is the ideal place for your Italian holiday. In addition to the numerous tourist attractions within easy reach, the smaller beautiful villages and towns are certainly also worth visiting.

Like the neighbouring Medieval mountain village, Civitella in Val di Chiana. The narrow streets, the ruins of the castle La Rocca (10th century), the double fortress walls (13th century) and the former town hall (14th century) are proof of its rich history. In addition to the cultural experience, you can also go to Civitella for practical matters. There is a small shop with daily fresh bread, a coffee bar, gelateria and some restaurants with cozy terraces from where you have a beautiful view of the valley of the Chiana river.

If Tuscany’s main attractions are at the top of your wish list, you are in the right place. In less than half an hour, you have reached the historical centre of Arezzo with its Piazza Grande, known to the general public from the famous bicycle scene from ‘La Vita è Bella’. Every first weekend of the month there is a large antique market in the streets of the old town. Definitely worth visiting!

In addition, many more famous places can be reached within an hour. Firenze, with its Ponte Vecchio, Duomo and Piazza Michelangelo; Siena, internationally renowned for its horse race called ‘Palio’ which is held twice a year on the Piazza del Campo; Pienza, known for the Pecorino cheeses; Montepulciano, known for its fine wines; Cortona, where the movie ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ with Diane Lane was shot; Lago Trasimeno and so on. A little further away, but still easy to reach, you will find Montalcino (1h15min), Perugia (1h15min), San Gimignano (1h25min), Volterra (1h45min), Lucca (1h50min) and Pisa (2h). Rome and Vatican City are 209km from the house. From Arezzo you can reach the capital by train in approximately 1h30min.
